Tuition Clarification

*I'm sorry...I had two fliers that went out about Sound Beginnings and they each had a different tuition amount. Whoops! Tuition will be $35 for 2-4 year old, for a 2nd child (ages 2-4) the sibling discount tuition amount is $20 and 0-2 is $10.  They will all get so much out of this little program even the 0-2.  You will love it!! Look here for my current information on Sound Beginnings.

*Tuition for 1st year LPM 2012/2013 is $45, 2nd year $50, 3rd year $55.  If you will have 2 kids in the LPM program,  1st child pays regular tuition and the 2nd will get a $10 discount on their tuition.
Hopefully that clarifies it for you! Thanks! :)

*Tuition for private piano lessons is $45 each month.  I am completely full at the moment, but you can contact me to be put on my waiting list.

A little more about Sound Beginnings

Develop intelligence and
confidence in your
toddler in a setting
of music, play and parental
nurturing!

This fun new curriculum is specially designed for ages 2-4 and their parents.  By providing a solid music and preschool foundation, Sound Beginnings prepares students for success in Let's Play Music & Kindergarten! The Curriculum is organized into 4 non-sequential semesters, each lasting four months, each providing experience with important music concepts and skills through different songs & games. Classes include singing, movement, games, stories and activities, focusing on different concepts each semester.

Further Benefits:
Researchers, teachers and parents
are discovering that music
education promotes:
•Excellence in math
•Increased ability to read
•Enhanced brain functioning
•Decreased learning problems
and discipline problems
•Better social skills
•Superior communication skills

Classes are held: once a week (current options for 2012/13- Tuesdays 10 AM or Wednesdays 10 AM)
Classes begin: at the end of August (semester 1) & beginning of January (semester 2)
(All my music classes run with the regular school year, summer classes may sometimes become available if necessary)
Class duration: 30 minutes
Class size: 4-9 children
Entry age: 2-4 years old (one younger sibling may also attend)
Tuition: 140 per semester (4 months) or $35 paid monthly
Sibling tuition: 2-4 year old $20/month; 0-2 years old $10/month
sibling tuition is applied only after the 1st family member (age 2-4) is registered. If you want more than 2 kids in class you may need to consider bringing the other Parent, Grandma or other adult along with you for the fun.
Materials Fee: $30 per semester
White Horses materials include a student workbook, CD, percussion instrument and a few little surprises throughout the semester! *Extra sibling workbooks $10, extra instrument $5.
Note: Materials are different each semester.
Parent Involvement: attend class every week, plays CD and encourage class songs and activities at home.

Each semester of Sound Beginnings explores all of the elements of music:
rhythm, pitch, harmony, form, dynamics and tone color.

Semester 1

Semester 2

{
After these 2 semesters If children are then old enough and ready to begin Year one of "Let's play music" they may. If they are still under the age of 4 they could continue on with the next semesters of "Sound Beginnings,"  Gold Stars & Black Spiders where Specific concepts and skills taught include in-tune singing, beat, fast/slow, them and form counting, primary colors, name-recognition, and much more!}

Children learn most effectively when they are
playing! If you were to peek in on a Sound
Beginnings class, you would see jumping,
singing, skipping, storytelling, and laughing!
Music educators have long taught that the
young child learns best through play, experience
and discovery. As musical concepts and skills
are explored in a playful, joyful setting, children
absorb knowledge and ability.
This amazing learning atmosphere continues on through all Let's Play Music classes.

“{Sound Beginnings} has exceeded my
expectations. It packs so much into each half
hour class with an understanding of what it
takes to keep preschoolers engaged and
interested in musical activities. I am convinced
that {Sound Beginnings} and Let’s Play Music
will lead my two young children to musical
success.”

I was the Teacher Spotlight on the official LPM Blog

Let's Play Music has many wonderfully talented and super qualified teachers sharing the fabulous LPM program all over the United States.  We want to spotlight our teachers so others can learn more about the wide variety of instructors we have, where LPM is being taught, and the joy that music brings into all of our lives!
Our next Teacher Spotlight is Angela Shaner from Mesquite, Nevada!
  1. How long have you been teaching LPM?  This is my third year teaching Let's Play Music.
  2. What is your current teaching schedule?  I teach two 3rd Year classes back to back on Mondays, Red Balloons and Green Turtle Shells on Tuesdays and Red Balloons and Green Turtle Shells on Thursdays.
  3. How did you hear about LPM? I heard about LPM through a forum for Primary Music Leaders as that was my calling in church at the time...funny how things work out.  I researched LPM and it sounded exactly like what I had been looking for.  I was hooked after that!!
  4. What is your favorite LPM song?  Oh gosh, I have to choose just one song?  I absolutely love the "March of the Gnomes" puppet show.  It's one of my favorites.
  5. How many are in your family?  (Kids, dogs, cats, ect..)  There are six in my family...my husband and I, our two girls and two boys (and a dog & cat too)!!
  6. What is your favorite food?  My favorite food is popcorn.  :)  I love popcorn...I guess that's more of a snack, so my favorite food...hmmm...Roast and Potatoes!!
  7. What is your favorite past time or hobby?  My favorite past time or hobby is crafting.  When I have the chance I love to make all kinds of crafts!!
  8. Do you have any advice for other teachers or lessons learned while teaching that you would like to share?  I'm sure I could still take the advice too.  I learn something new about teaching all the time.  Just enjoy yourself.  If you love it, it will show through in your teaching.  Have fun and the kids will have fun too!  Some days may not go as well as others...just pick yourself up and the next time you teach you will be reminded why you love teaching and why you do what you do.
Thanks for the advice Angela!  You are so right.  Some days are harder than others, but aren't we all so lucky to have the best "job" in the world!!
